Due to the imminent threat of Hurricane Irma in the Savannah area early next week, the Savannah College of Art and Design is delaying the start of the fall round of classes, which had been scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11.
The new start date is Monday, Sept. 18.
"Students & families should NOT plan to travel to the SAV/ATL campuses at this time," SCAD announced on Twitter at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
New students will not be allowed to move in to their residence halls until September 14, and returning students September 16, other than students who are already pre-approved to arrive before 5 p.m.…
